May 1st is National Physicians’ Day, marked annually by the Canadian Medical Association in recognition of Dr. Emily Stowe: the first female physician to practice in Canada.
Did you know, in 2024 that 88 physicians (42 family physicians and 46 specialists), 140+ locum physicians, 6 Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) Comprehensive Community Clerkship Students, and 7 NOSM University Family Medicine Residents helped care for patients at TADH?
Recently the hospital, along with other partners including the city of Timmins and Agnico Eagle, achieved a physician fundraising recruitment milestone that will help bring in as many as 30 new physicians in the next three years. Learn more here.
