Building Systems Operation Technician

Education and Training:

• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Direct Digital Controls (DDC).
• Or; 4^th Class Stationary Engineer.
• Or HVAC
• Or Gas Fitter certification
• Or Electrical certification
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Strong understanding of safety principles, including LOTO procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Experience:

• Experience in HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, and servicing technique. Peripheral equipment installation considered an asset.
• A minimum of five years of experience in building control systems, building maintenance and mechanical systems, including exposure with troubleshooting and repairing BAS Systems (Building Automation System). A combination of related education, training, apprenticeships, and work experience would also be considered.

Personal Stability:

• Must have the physical ability to work in various conditions both indoors and outdoors; perform medium to heavy work such as lifting and carrying objects and/or equipment.
• Excellent communication both verbally and written.
• Able and willing to work with other trades within the crew and pass on knowledge to allow them to perform simple tasks.

Other:

• Bilingualism (French and English) would be considered an asset.
• Combination of trade tickets is a definite asset.
• All TADH staff members must follow the COVID-19 vaccination series in accordance with the most up-to-date vaccine guidance provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health.
