Timmins, ON – Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is proud to announce that its environmental service staff have been awarded the prestigious Canadian Healthcare Housekeeping Association Award. This award recognizes the exceptional contributions of housekeeping staff in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
This award reflects the hard work and dedication of our environmental service workers whose commitment to cleanliness and patient safety is key to our mission of providing quality healthcare. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishment and their positive impact on the hospital community.
The award celebrates excellence in healthcare housekeeping practices, showcasing organizations that demonstrate outstanding commitment to hygiene and infection prevention. TADH was selected from more than 150 nominations from across Canada.

With a team of 50 people, the environmental services staff are responsible for a wide range of essential tasks, including cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, common areas, and operating rooms. Their efforts are crucial in preventing the spread of infections and promoting overall health and safety within the hospital.
Timmins and District Hospital is a fully accredited community, referral, and teaching hospital serving the residents of the City of Timmins and Cochrane District as well as the adjoining areas of the Timiskaming, Sudbury, and Algoma districts. The hospital offers a full range of medical, surgical, critical care, maternity, newborn, pediatric, long-term care, mental health, and diagnostic imaging services.
