Take Care of your Heart: Marking Heart Month
February is Heart Month, a time to think about your heart and how to take better care of it to reduce your risk of heart attacks and cardiovascular disease –
Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is seeking patients and family members with diverse backgrounds and experiences to join its Patient and Family Advisory Committee.
“We’re looking for people who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others,” said Sylvie Lamarche Lacroix, committee member. “Please consider applying if you’re interested in helping to strengthen patient services at the hospital and enjoy engaging in conversation with a diverse group. We welcome all who come to the table with different experiences and backgrounds.”
The committee provides vital feedback to the hospital on everything from reviewing patient handouts and signage, to providing feedback on construction projects, to aiding in the development of new programs. It ensures the experiences of patients and family members are captured and acted on, as the hospital works to enhance how care is accessed, delivered, and experienced.
“At TADH we are working to enhance the patient experience. We value people’s experiences, thoughts, and ideas, and want to learn from them.” said Kate Fyfe, CEO and President. “As a hospital dedicated to continuous improvement, we want to ensure that their voices are heard and reflected in all our work.”
To be eligible to serve on the committee, you or a family member need to have been a patient at TADH within the past three years. Members commit to one meeting per month and may be interested in taking on additional project work.
