Advanced Surgical Care Solutions

The Surgical Program offers a comprehensive range of services, including orthopedics, urology, oral/dental surgery, ear, nose and throat (ENT), gynaecology, ophthalmology and general surgery.

Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) has a total of six operating room suites, supported by an exceptional team of physicians, nurses and health care workers.

Day Surgery

Day Surgery care is for patients returning home post-operatively on the same day of surgery.

General Surgery and Operating Room

We work as a collaborative multi-disciplinary team providing the best care for our patients. Surgical cases include elective, emergent, urgent and trauma procedures.

Post Anesthetic Care Unit (PACU)

The PACU, also known as the recovery room, supports patients who are recovering immediately following their surgical procedure. While in the recovery room, patients are under the observation of our clinical care team, ensuring that patients remain stable after anesthetic.

Pre-Admission Clinic

The Pre-Admission Clinic provides pre-operative testing and screening for all patients who enter the hospital for elective surgery.

Surgical In-Patient Unit

The in-patient surgical unit has a total of 24 surgical beds to care for patients post-operatively. Additionally, the Surgical In-Patient Unit has a separate endoscopy unit which performs colonoscopy, gastroscopy and bronchoscopy procedures.

Medical Devices Reprocessing Department

Although not an area where patients receive direct care, the Medical Devices Reprocessing Department is vital to ensuring our patients remain safe. This department is responsible for ensuring all surgical instruments are reprocessed, sterilized and available for surgical procedures.
