Registered Nurse - Diagnostic Imaging

Position Overview

To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to the standards of nursing practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and the policies and procedures of the Timmins and District Hospital.

Position Requirements

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate (condition of employment).
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certificate.
  • Broad Ambulatory Care, Critical Care, and Post-Procedural Care experience.
  • Current Certificate in I.V. Therapy.
  • Certification in skills required for Central Line Management and Port-a-Cath Assessment and Management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, families, regional support services, and community partners.
  • Ability to provide health teaching to individuals and groups.
  • Commitment to continuing education on an annual basis and dedication to quality improvement.
  • Ability to assume a leadership role as a collaborative member of the health team.
  • Responsibility for patient care in a total patient care climate.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands required to provide nursing care to all patients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and intervention skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Commitment to personal safety, safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors.
  • Ability to support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events.
  • Good attendance and work record.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
  • All TADH staff members must follow the COVID-19 vaccination series in accordance with the most up-to-date vaccine guidance provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting salary of $39.07/hour – $76,186.50/year (as per step 1 of the ONA collective agreement).
  • Option to enroll in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan.
