The Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) Diabetes Education Centre opened its doors in an easier to access location for patients, family members and visitors.
“Upon learning that the Diabetes Centre is relocating, I felt a surge of excitement. The new location is more accessible and easier to find, offering larger and more comfortable rooms. Additionally, it provides ample parking, enhancing the overall experience for patients.
Located across the street from the hospital at 707 Ross Ave. East, the new the Diabetes Education Centre, which opened December 2, provides both a comfortable environment and convenient location for people of all ages. “Upon learning that the Diabetes Centre is relocating, I felt a surge of excitement,” said Nina Sunico, a patient who relies its services. “The new location is more accessible and easier to find, offering larger and more comfortable rooms. Additionally, it provides ample parking, enhancing the overall experience for patients.”
Relocating the centre to a location that is focused on patient needs is part of TADH’s Strategic Plan’s priority to improve the patient experience. “At TADH we are focused on providing patient-centred and exemplary care to Northerners,” said Kate Fyfe, CEO and President, of TADH. “Our team of dedicated health care professionals will continue to offer comprehensive services, including education, management programs, and regular screenings, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care in our new location.”
Patients can receive help with treating and managing the three forms of diabetes: type 1, type 2, and gestational, which affects those who are pregnant. In all types of diabetes, a person’s body either doesn’t produce enough insulin or doesn’t use the insulin it produces effectively.
“We look forward to welcoming patients to our new location and continuing to provide the support they need to manage their diabetes effectively, said Manager Lorna Green.
