Outpatient Mental Health Services

The Outpatient Mental Health Program (OPMH) provides brief therapy and educational programs to clients coping with mental illness. Nurses and social workers work with the individual to set goals for therapy and utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions to help individuals reach their goals. Trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, our clinicians accept referrals from physicians or primary care practitioners within the Cochrane District, and from the TADH’s Crisis Team.

The Crisis Team is a 24 hour, 7 days per week service available to individuals who may be experiencing a mental health crisis. The Crisis Team assesses individuals presenting to TADH’s Emergency Department seeking assistance, and can assist with connecting individuals with services that may meet their needs.

The TADH also has a 24 hour, 7 days per week crisis line service that individuals can access by calling 705-264-3003 or 1-888-340-3003.

The Transitional Care Program (TCP) is a teaching program that is provided in a small group setting that promotes healthy lifestyles and positive coping skills to clients coping with an acute or serious mental illness. There are three one-hour sessions per day offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm, and one two hour session held on Fridays between 9:00 am and 11:00 am. Self-referrals are accepted by contacting the OPMH department at 705-267-6315.

The Mental Health Act lists specific criteria that need to be met to issue or renew a CTO. Please contact the CTO coordinator for more information at 705-267-6315.

TADH provides psychiatric consultation and follow-up on an out-patient basis through the Outpatient Mental Health Department (OPMH).
