Position Overview

The primary role of the RN is to provide high quality, safe, effective and evidence -based care in partnership with patients and families, in accordance with College of Nurse of Ontario standards TADH’s mission, vision and values. The ideal candidate will be focused on providing superior patient and Family centered care in a dynamic, complex and rapidly changing environment.

Position Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.  Recent ICU or ED experience in the care of cardiac, cardiopulmonary, cardiovascular and ventilated patients is preferred.  A minimum of two years’ general medicine/surgical experience will also be considered.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated performance and current certification in I.V., central venous catheter/ PICC line, and arrhythmia interpretation, BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and CTAS.
  • Certification from a critical care program that meets the “Standards of Critical Care in Ontario” and/or ENO certification will be considered an asset.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Superior assessment and observational skills.
  • Commitment to patient and family centered care, professional practice, personal development, shared leadership and team-based decision-making.
  • Skilled at multi-tasking with excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly paced, stressful environment.
  • Demonstrated reliable attendance, punctuality, availability and performance is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the physical demands of position.
  • Must be able to do shift work (days and nights).
  • Must possess the ability to provide effective services to clients/patients in both English and French.  Individuals who do not meet the language requirements of this post are invited to submit their résumé for future consideration.
  • As part of the interview process, candidates may be required to complete a written test designated to evaluate knowledge regarding cardiac, cardiopulmonary and cardiovascular components.
  • All TADH staff members must follow the COVID-19 vaccination series in accordance with the most up-to-date vaccine guidance provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting salary of $41.15/hour; $80,242.50/year (As per Step 1 of the ONA collective agreement.) ranges to 58.98/hour; $115,011.00/year (As per Step 8 of the ONA collective agreement.)
  • Option to enroll into Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan.
