The hospital team welcomed today’s announcement by MPP and Minister of Northern Economic Development and Growth, Government of Ontario George Pirie of $4.2 million in additional base funding and more than $1.9 million through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund for critical upgrades and repairs.

Today’s announcement includes two important investments that will strengthen care for patients across our region. The additional base funding will help support hospital operations and meet the growing demand for care, while the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund investment will support essential upgrades and repairs, ensuring our facilities remain safe, reliable and ready to serve our communities. “These investments are welcome news for our region and reflects the importance of ensuring people in Northeastern Ontario have access to high-quality care, close to home. As demand for hospital services continues to grow, the additional funding will help us improve timely access to care, strengthen the services our patients rely on, and support our dedicated teams as they continue to deliver exceptional care every day,” said Mike Baker, President and CEO of Timmins and District Hospital.
