Attestations

In the spirit of public disclosure, the TADH has posted its Attestation signed by the CEO and Board Chair, prepared in accordance with section 15 of the Broader Public Sector Accountability Act, 2010 (BPSAA).

Community Engagement

The TADH’s Community Advisory Committee was established to provide a link between the Hospital and the community it serves. The committee meets to help identify service needs in the community and to serve as a communication link between the hospital and community. The committee reports directly to the President & CEO and submits a regular update to the Board of Directors.

The purpose of this committee is to provide input to the Board of Directors of the Timmins and District Hospital on topics and projects related to community health care issues and health care delivery.

Not only will the committee members provide valuable input to the Board of Directors, but they will also become well informed about the hospital so they can be positive representatives of the hospital in the community.

Expense Reporting

The Broader Public Sector Accountability Act, 2010 (BPSAA), includes a number of transparency and accountability mechanisms concerning the use of lobbyists, consultants and expenses.

  • Work in collaboration with hospital departments to determine source of supply, quantities purchased, delivery schedule and price.
  • Administer requests for quotations, proposals, tenders, negotiations and contract awards.
  • Develop specifications with user departments as well as arrange for the evaluation of supplies, equipment and services from suppliers.
  • Research the marketplace for new products and vendors.
  • Ensure purchasing transactions are completed correctly, efficiently and inexpensively.

Salary Disclosure

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 (the act) makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to disclose annually the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in a calendar year.

The act applies to organizations such as the Government of Ontario, Crown Agencies, Municipalities, Hospitals, Boards of Public Health, School Boards, Universities, Colleges, Hydro One, Ontario Power Generation, and other public sector employers who receive a significant level of funding from the provincial government.

The main requirement for the organizations covered by the act is to make their disclosure, or if applicable, to make their statement of no employee salaries to disclose available to the public by March 31. Organizations covered by the act are also required to send their disclosure or statement to their funding ministry or ministries by the fifth business day of March.
