Timmins, ON – Santa is putting in a little extra time this year and is visiting seniors and older adults who are spending the holiday season in hospital. With thanks to the Rotary Club of Timmins-Porcupine and Plan A Timmins, the “Adopt-A-Senior” project will see over 60 gifts delivered to patients across medical and surgical units at the Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) and TADH facility at St. Mary’s Gardens.
“The holidays can be hard for patients who require care in hospital and who may be separated from their loved ones”, says Kate Fyfe, TADH President and CEO. “Anything we can do to bring holiday joy to patients and the team who are caring for them is one of our top priorities.”
Anne-Marie Sorsa, TADH Elder Life Specialist shares, “We’re incredibly grateful for our community partners this holiday season who are helping to bring smiles and joy to people across our hospital.”
“It’s been such a wonderful project for Rotary to be part of,” explains June Woodburn, Secretary of Rotary Timmins-Porcupine. “I know we will want to continue with this every Christmas season.”
The hardworking TADH elves will be coming together to deliver the gifts and spread holiday cheer on December 21st and 22nd, 2023.
The Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is a fully accredited community, referral and teaching hospital serving the residents of the City of Timmins and Cochrane District as well as the adjoining areas of the Timiskaming, Sudbury and Algoma districts.
