“We take pride at TADH in being able to provide access to comprehensive consultations in our Specialty and Fracture Clinics and follow-up in a timely fashion once a patient referral is received by the intake team,” stated Kim Bazinet, Manager at TADH. “This initiative will allow us to work better with primary care partners to ensure that patients in our community and district who are in need of a specialist can be assessed and cared for closer to home. We want to ensure that primary care providers have the ability to easily refer their patients to the appropriate specialist at TADH“.
“Ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care, close to home remains one of our top priorities,” explained Kate Fyfe, President and CEO at TADH. “By implementing this eReferral system to a larger number of programs within our hospital, we help improve the speed at which referrals can be submitted which translates into more efficient referrals and potentially reduced wait times for patients. The expansion of this system is just one of the many projects our hospital is working on to ensure exemplary patient care for Northerners.”
The Ocean eReferral system was originally launched at TADH in 2018 for its Northeastern Joint Assessment program providing patients from across the Northeast with a simplified and streamlined approach to regaining control of their joint pain. Providers and specialists can now submit eReferrals to the following Outpatient Clinics with plans to expand to more programs and services in the near future.
Primary care providers will have access to up-to-date specialists and program directories at TADH. Referral forms within the OCEAN eReferral system are pre-populated by specialty to help improve the speed at which a referral can be submitted. The eReferral system also helps to ensure that all mandatory fields within the referral are completed therefore reducing the likelihood of incomplete submissions.
